Douglas McCann Licensed Funeral Director - Class 1 - President, McCann Funeral Group, Managing Director, Aftercare
Doug started his career in the funeral industry at the age of 16 working part-time and summers at a funeral home in Cambridge. In 1985, he obtained his Funeral Directors Licence after attending Humber College in Toronto. Doug's love of fine art led him to open the mccann gallery in Toronto and also volunteering at the Art Post Magazine. He worked at various funeral homes in Toronto and traveled to Japan to work 3 years at International Mortuary Systems in Kawaguchi. Doug managed the Kawaguchi office and was also responsible for purchasing and inventories throughout the company. After returning to Canada in 1994, Doug saw the need in Toronto for a more straight-forward, lower cost cremation service, and in 1995 he founded Aftercare. Doug has volunteered with various provincial and federal political parties, written book reviews for The Anglican newspaper and was the Commemorations Chairperson for the West Toronto Division of the Canadian Cancer Society. As a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church - King Street, he has volunteered with the Out of The Cold Program, has served as an Elder on Session and currently sits on the Board of Management. Always an advocate for simple low cost funerals, Doug is a Board Trustee of the Funeral Advisory and Memorial Society of Toronto. He is also a founding member and current President of the O'Connor Bermonsdey Business Association. Doug enjoys tennis, skiing, traveling, fine art and spending time with his wife and daughter.
Ryan McEachnie Licensed Funeral Director - Class 1 - Managing Director, Aftercare Oshawa / Whitby
Ryan is a third generation Funeral Director who was raised around his father's funeral home in Pickering Village. Ryan joined Aftercare after graduating with Honours from Humber College and receiving his Funeral Directors Licence in 2002. Ryan also received his Honours Bachelor of Science in animal sciences and genetics from the University of Guelph. Ryan and his wife currently live in Oshawa and also spend time at their sheep farm near Belleville. Ryan keeps busy caring for three dogs and two siamese cats. His interests include sustainable agriculture, hockey, snowmobiling, North American history and travelling in the US visiting civil war battlefields.
Laura Steeves Licensed Funeral Director - Class 1
Laura has been a Licensed Funeral Director since 2000 and joined Aftercare in 2008. She is a former pathologist assistant and professional embalmer. Laura is personable and passionate when helping families during their time of need. Laura's favourite pastime is hiking in mountains and spending time with her two children. Her dream is to retire in the Lauterbrunnen Valley, Switzerland.

John has been a Licensed Funeral Director since 1983 and joined Aftercare in 2014.
Jennifer Brethour Licensed Funeral Director - Class 1
Jennifer has been a Licensed Funeral Director since 2011 and joined Aftercare in 2014.
Krystal Goulbourne Licensed Funeral Director - Class 1
Krystal joined Aftercare in 2016 to serve her internship and became a Licensed Funeral Director in the summer of 2017.
Meer Khan Director of Islamic Funeral Services
Meer has been involved with Jami Mosque and the Islamic community since emigrating from Guyana to Canada in 1972. Affectionately known as Uncle Meer, he has served many families at Aftercare since 1996 and has also sat on the Board of Downsview Community Legal Services. Recently, Meer was recognized for his outstanding contribution to society by the International Development and Relief Foundation. Meer volunteers at many hospitals visiting the sick and elderly and enjoys spending time with family and attending Friday prayer with his grandchildren.
