Arkadiusz "Eric" Skroczek

My father, Arkadiusz "Eric" Skroczek, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Born on October 25, 1958, he passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, with me by his side. He will be remembered for his hard-working spirit, quiet strength, and generous heart. He was the kind of man who was always ready to help — whether it was fixing something with his hands or simply showing up when it mattered most. My mom and dad came to Canada from Poland 39 years ago, determined to build a better life. They worked side by side for over 33 years as superintendents of an apartment building, and took great pride in caring for it. Though they didn’t socialize much in the community, they were kind, reliable, and always willing to lend a hand to the tenants. In my dad’s later years, as his health declined, many of those same tenants offered their help in return — something that meant a lot to him and to us. My father was predeceased by his beloved wife, Grazyna "Grace", as well as his parents, Karolina and Stanislaw. Despite many health challenges, he remained resilient and surrounded by love. He is survived by me, his daughter Eliza (Tex), and his two grandchildren, Josh and Zoe, who were the light of his life. He is also remembered with deep love by his siblings and extended family in Poland, who stayed in close contact over the years with regular calls and words of comfort. To me, my dad was everything. He was my hero, my teacher, and my partner in every project. I was a daddy’s girl from the start — following him around our farm in Poland, helping him paint and fix things, always eager to be by his side. When I became a homeowner, he was still there, just like always — helping me rebuild our basement after a flood, paint walls, fix the kitchen, build a fence, and so much more. I was his little sidekick, and he taught me everything I know about perseverance, patience, and how to quietly care for the people you love. Our family would like to thank our friends, nurses, doctors, and personal support workers who took care of my dad in his final months. This organization provided him with care and nourishment during his final months, and we are deeply grateful for the kindness and compassion shown by their volunteers. A small celebration of life for Arkadiusz and his beloved wife will be held soon, with details to follow. My father will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
