Glen Paul Clieff August 29, 1941 - October 14, 2025 Till we meet again With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Glen Paul Clieff at his home in Oshawa on October 14, 2025, at the age of 84. Glen was the beloved husband of Yvonne Clieff (née Jones) for over 30 years, cherished twin brother of Gary (Shirley), and brother of the late Basil (Enid). Glen is survived by his former wife, Dorothy Clieff (née Steele), and was the loving father of their children Julie, Cheryl, and Laura (deceased at birth). He was also father to Michael Howells (Rowena). Glen is fondly remembered by his daughters-in-law, Michelle (Patrick) and Jacqueline Jones, and was a proud grandfather to Brayden and Dylan Walker, Paige and Tyson Bishop. He will be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Suzanne Labatt (John), Anthony Clieff (Karen), Jennifer Lethbridge (Tom), and Jonathan Clieff, as well as their children, Michael Syer, Sarah Labatt, and Christopher and Rachel Clieff. A proud retiree of General Motors, Glen worked for 35 years as a Materials Engineer. Beyond his professional career, his greatest lifelong passion and joy was hockey. He played hockey as a defenceman from the age of eight and continued skating until the age of eighty. He was also a ice and ball hockey referee for more than 40 years, inspiring players of all ages and abilities. A devoted Maple Leafs fan, Glen proudly played semi-professional (Senior B) hockey with the Lakeshore Bruins and represented Canada in Europe. The countless memories he made on the ice will remain forever in the hearts of those who shared them with him. He was a proud member of the Cabbagetown community and cherished the lifelong friendships he formed in his youth during the 1950s and 60s. A dedicated blood donor, he proudly celebrated making more than one hundred donations for life-saving contributions. Glen was a warm, caring, and humble man, remembered for his quick wit and countless stories. He brightened every room with his vibrant personality and sense of humour. His generous spirit brought joy to all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by family and friends and fondly remembered for the happiness he brought to every life he touched. In keeping with Glen’s wishes, he will be laid to rest with his parents, Anne Clieff (née Kolacyzk/Pitry) and Norman Clieff. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in Glen’s memory to Canadian Blood Services or The Salvation Army would be appreciated.
