Lance Rissman

Lance Rissman, 46, of Toronto, passed away on June 29, 2024. Lance was born on November 21, 1977 to Rhys Lee Rissman and Judy Dorothy Rissman in Fort Frances. After Lance graduated from Huntsville High School in 1994, he went on to study Computer Engineering Technology at Centennial College. Lance spent the last 19 years working for the Government of Ontario under different Ministries. He was a Manager, Business Solutions, Procurement Manager, Management Lead, Senior Acquisition Services Planner, Special Projects, Technical Lead, Team Lead, Senior System Support Analyst, Manager Operational Readiness. Prior to that, he worked for Celestica. Lance and Andreia married in 2004. Lance and Andreia went on to have 2 children, Alisha Arai-Rissman and Matthew Arai-Rissman. Lance had many passions. He enjoyed learning and that led him to being able to do virtually everything from cooking to soap making to fixing cars. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed renovating. His new hobby was 3-D printing. Lance will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Andréia; daughter Alisha and son Matthew; father Rhys Rissman (Nadine), mother Judy Angus (Randy); mother-in-law Angela Fusako Arai; sister Chrysandra Comaduran (Mike), brother Shawn Rissman (Andréa); auntie Terill Adamik (Lawrence), uncle Chane Rissman (Den); nieces Vicky Pelletier (Steve), Kristina and Olivia Rissman, great niece Cassidy Bennett; sister-in-law Adriana Arai Ueda, brother-in-law Aristeu Shizuo Arai; nieces Bruna Ueda; Emily Arai; nephews: Felipe Ueda; Kawan Ueda; and his beloved dog Sparky. He will also be missed by his many cousins. Lance was predeceased by his grandparents Malcolm Rissman and Pearl Jessup and George and LaVerne Palliser; his father-in-law Antônio Masa Aki Arai, and aunt Crystal Rissman. Lance’s celebration of life will be held at Toronto City Church, 36 Curity Avenue, Toronto, on July 7 at 3:30 p.m. Light refreshments and snacks will be served. Lance wished for Alisha’s and Matthew’s future to be financially secure.
