Ms. Marilyn Ruth Dillane Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

"GRANDMA MONIE" (February 18, 1946 – October 3, 2015) Most treasured grandma, mother, sister, aunty, cousin, and friend.Marilyn’s laughter and love will be forever remembered. In peaceful comfort on October 3, 2015 in Woodstock, Ontario, Marilyn bravely gave her last breath. She has gone to meet her parents Irene and Wilfred Dillane, her brother Raymond Dillane, and her eternally loving sister Helen Price (Gordon). Marilyn is remembered by her beloved partner and companion of 30 years Harold Brown, lovingly by her children Paula Rose (Tom), and Gregory Bourque (Jo-Ann), forever cherished by her grandchildren Michael and Sophia Rose, and treasured by sisters; Anita Hass (Wolfe), Lorraine McFarlane (Glen), Lenora Kelly, and Susan Nufrio (Ben). Several nieces and nephews share fond memories and love for their Aunty Marilyn. Marilyn’s kept close friendships during her many years of working at BMG Music (RCA in the early days) before retiring. As a dedicated Grandmother, she enjoyed spending time laughing with her two grandchildren, “Bababoo and Bababee” as she had nicknamed them. Marilyn loved her pets, cottage life any chance she had, and enjoyed playing a skilled game of poker. When she danced, it was like nobody was watching! Her quick wit could turn anyone’s smile turn into laughter.Our family would like to extend our heart-felt thanks to the Palliative care team and volunteers at Sakura House for their compassionate gentle care during our Mother’s final days. They are true angels on earth. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marilyn may be made to VON Sakura House in Woodstock, On. On Friday October 9, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., at Marilyn’s request there will be a private family internment at Thornton Cemetery in Oshawa, Ontario followed by a gathering of friends and family for Marilyn’s Celebration of Life between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at: OSHAWA AIRPORT GOLF CLUB, 1145 Thornton Rd N, Oshawa, Ontario L1H 7K4 “…come as you are, dresses or suits NOT required”.
