Ross Goodman

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Ross (Goodman), who left us peacefully, in hospice, surrounded by those who loved him most. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Sandra and George Goodman, whose values shaped the man he became and by his father-in-law Dennis, with whom he shared a passion for growing garlic. Ross will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Angela, and forever cherished by his children, Devon (Phoenix) and Spencer, who were the centre of his world and his greatest pride. He will be deeply missed by his brother Glenn (Claudia), his sister Alison (Frank), His Mother-in-Law Beverly, His Brother-in laws Mike (Iris) and Dan (Michal) as well as by his nieces and nephews—Jonas (Sophie), Colin, Nina, Gavin, Lilia, Anna, Charlotte and Mila, who all held a very special place in his heart. Ross had countless friends and neighbours who felt like family, and he will be deeply missed by them all. At heart, Ross was a true outdoorsman who found joy in life’s simple pleasures—time spent in nature, quiet moments outside, “puttering” around the yard, and evenings around a campfire. Because his love of nature wasn’t something he could pursue as a career, Ross studied to become a cabinet maker. He was incredibly skilled at his craft, with great attention to detail. His work can be found in many homes of family and friends. These works now carry an even more special meaning as we look at them and remember him. Ross and Angela were married July, 2006, in Newfoundland , a place they both held dear and visited often over the years. When the children came along, those visits became a family affair, with many special memories made there. Ross was a devoted father whose love and pride in his children was immeasurable. When the children were young, he passed along and nurtured his love of the outdoors to them. They enjoyed outdoor play, walks, finding frogs and bugs, camping, and skiing together. When a Thunderstorm was looming, Ross would round up the kids and sit in the window to “watch the show” with them. He loved watching them take part in their activities. At game time, he was on the sidelines, cheering them on. He was their biggest fan. Ross enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends in casual gatherings - preferably around a campfire, when the weather was right. He had a great sense of humour and a way of bringing laughter to those around him, a gift he held onto even through his illness. Ross will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. We will carry his memory with us always—in the stories we share, the laughter we remember, and the moments that remind us of him. Rest peacefully, dear Ross. You are forever loved. There will be a Celebration of life at Port Perry Legion on May 3, 2026 from 1-4pm, in honour of Ross. The family requests, in lieu of gifts or flowers, donations be made to Oak Ridges Hospice.
