Cheryl Jane Alderton (nee Dyson)

Passed away peacefully in her 66th year at Providence Health Care on February 5th 2022. Cheryl Alderton, formally of Pickering had a long, admirable career of 42 years with TD bank in Personal Credit. Born in Wimbledon, England and immigrated to Ontario, Canada as an Infant with both of her parents Jack and Doreen Dyson. Cheryl was Predeceased by both of her parents and was the eldest of four girls; Sue (John) of Barrie, Judy of Scarborough and Jackie (Regan) of Janetville. Cheryl was the loving mother to daughter Stephanie and doting Nana to Jensen. She will be loved and missed by her many nieces and nephews, both in Canada and across the pond. Cheryl enjoyed reading, music of all genres, film and travel. Cheryl had a talent for sewing and a passion for cooking and baking. She also participated in living history re-enactments of the war of 1812 and was a dedicated member of the Incorporated Militia of Upper Canada for many years where she will be remembered fondly by fellow members. Endless appreciation and gratitude to the incredible staff at Providence Health Care that made Cheryl's time there as dignified and comfortable as possible. In keeping with Cheryl’s wishes , cremation has already taken place and we would love to request the presence of close friends and family for the interment and celebration of life ceremonies, which will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donation(s) in Cheryl's honour to the Providence Healthcare Foundation.
