Margaret Elaine Martin

Margaret Elaine Martin (nee Woodhouse) January 16, 1940 - December 29, 2021. It is with great sadness we say goodbye to Margaret (Marg, Margie, and Mom). Margaret passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 81 and is predeceased by her beloved husband Jack Martin and daughter Vicky Martin. She is survived by her son Jay Martin, daughter Dana Carnwith and son-in-law Ross Carnwith. She will be dearly remembered by family and friends. Mom loved to dance. She grew up in Kingston, Ontario where as a teen she would attend dances from Thursday to Sunday. This is where she connected with the love of her life. Mom loved being part of social gatherings visiting with friends and family at the family farm. She had a passion for animals, dogs and cats, particularly sheltie’s. She spent many years breeding sheltie’s on a small scale, making many families happy with a beautiful furry addition to their home. Mom always had a smile and greeting of Hiya ready for her friends and employees at the Carriage House. A special thank-you to all our friends and family for their love and support and to the Carriage House retirement residence employees who made a home for Mom over the last 6 years. Cremation has been entrusted to Aftercare Funeral Services. Due to the ongoing pandemic, there is no service planned at this time. The family plans to hold a celebration of life memorial service when it is safe to do so. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ontario Lung Association www.lunghealth.ca. In her memory, please raise a glass and share a laugh. Mom’s love will live in our hearts forever.
