Allan Bull

BULL Allan 1950 - 2023 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mr. Allan Bull of Scarborough, Ontario. Peacefully on December 18, 2023 in his 73rd year after a valiantly fought battle against numerous health issues. Allan, a US army veteran proudly served his country which included deployment to Vietnam. Allan’s time spent in the military provided the foundation for a career in correctional services. Allan’s corrections career began when he was hired to work at Leavenworth, a medium security penitentiary located in Kansas USA. Allan’s correctional career continued upon his return to Canada where he worked at the Toronto Don Jail and would eventually retire from his home institution The Toronto East Detention Centre. Bull Dog as he was referred to by fellow officers will be remembered by his work family as being a loyal, solid, dependable and fair officer. Bull was highly respected by his peers and inmates alike. Bull Dog will also be remembered for his wicked sense of humour, legendary pranks, inappropriate behaviour and his endless desire to have fun and make the best of things. Bull enjoyed the challenges of the job and made many friendships during his career. A true and lasting friendship was formed with Plover. The two were often referred to as “ Frick and Frack” and were involved in many adventures and shenanigans over the years both at work and in their civilian lives. Allan was a die hard Toronto Maple Leaf fanatic who bled blue and white and also enjoyed his role as a goal tender playing for many local hockey teams. His love of golf, softball, rugby, camping and socializing always provided good times with family and friends. Allan leaves behind his beloved wife of 32 years Angela Bull ( nee London ) Angela gave up her life in the United States and became a proud Canadian citizen joining Allan in Scarborough in 1991. Allan also leaves behind his two beloved rescue cats Tiger and Sassy as well as nieces Tracey, Karen and Chris and his nephew Brian. Angela wishes to thank Allan’s doctors, PSW’s and the ICU nurses at Centenary hospital. Special thanks to his friend David who provided companionship and support to Allan over the last several years. A very special hello and thank you to Allan’s Comrades at The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 617 - Dambusters. Your love, support, kindness and companionship were always and continue to be a source of comfort and greatly appreciated. As per Allan’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held on Sunday January 21, 2024 at The Royal Canadian Legion branch 617 located at 937 Warden Ave, Scarborough. A short service will commence at 1400 hrs followed by a celebration of Allan / Bull Dogs life. Angela requests that those attending please wear your jeans, Toronto Maple Leaf attire or anything blue and white ( no hats please) In lieu of flowers, if desired Allan has requested that a donation in his memory be made to the Toronto Cat Rescue which is a registered, no kill organization driven by dedicated volunteers.
