Esther Hang Chun Lai 1937 – 2025 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Esther Hang Chun Lai, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 12, 2025, in Toronto, at the age of 87, due to heart failure. Esther was born in 1937 in Taishan, Guangdong Province, China, the third of eight children. Her family later immigrated to Hong Kong, where she spent most of her childhood and early adult life. Even as a young woman, Esther was full of energy and joy—she loved dancing, playing basketball, and ping pong. She also showed a strong entrepreneurial spirit from a young age, running her own children's clothing shop in Hong Kong. Later in life, Esther immigrated with her family to Venezuela, where they established and successfully managed a supermarket business. Esther dedicated much of her life to this business, where her determination, discipline, and keen sense for commerce helped support her family and community. Esther was known for her cheerful demeanor—rarely seen without a smile—and for her strong yet compassionate nature. She was a woman who knew what she wanted, yet always remained kind-hearted and willing to help those in need. About 40 years ago, Esther accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized in Tucson, Arizona. Her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life. She was also a talented cook and an avid knitter, who brought warmth and care into everything she did. After retiring, she spent her later years living between the United States and Canada, enjoying time with family and friends. Esther was predeceased by her beloved husband Shui Lung, as well as her daughter Betty and son Mitchell. She will be lovingly remembered by her surviving family members and friends around the world. Her legacy of strength, compassion, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. 黎杏珍（Esther Hang Chun Lai） 1937 – 2025 我們懷著無比沉痛的心情告訴大家，黎杏珍女士於2025年6月12日（星期四）在多倫多安詳辭世，享年87歲，因心臟衰竭而離開我們。 黎杏珍女士1937年出生於中國廣東省台山縣，是家中八個兄弟姊妹中的第三位。年幼時隨家人移居香港，在那裡渡過了她的大部分童年與青春歲月。年輕時的她性格開朗、充滿活力，熱愛跳舞、籃球及乒乓球運動。 她從小就展現出商業頭腦，年輕時已在香港經營童裝店。後來她隨家人移民到委內瑞拉，一家人開始從事超市生意。黎女士大半生投入於超市的經營，憑藉著堅定的信念與努力，取得了事業上的成功。 她樂觀開朗，臉上總是掛著微笑，是一位堅毅又有主見的女性，同時心地善良、富有同情心，樂於幫助有需要的人。 約四十年前，她在美國亞利桑那州圖森市受洗，成為基督徒，信仰成為她生命中的重要力量。 她廚藝出色，也擅長編織，是一位勤勞又有愛心的長輩。退休後，她長期居住於美國及加拿大之間，享受與家人相伴的時光。 黎杏珍女士的丈夫（Shui Lung）、女兒（Betty）及兒子（Mitchell）均已先她而去。她的離世讓親朋好友深感哀痛，但她堅強、慈愛與喜樂的生命將永遠活在我們心中。 Esther Hang Chun Lai 1937 – 2025 Con profunda tristeza anunciamos el fallecimiento de Esther Hang Chun Lai, quien falleció pacíficamente el jueves 12 de junio de 2025 en Toronto, a la edad de 87 años, debido a una insuficiencia cardíaca. Esther nació en 1937 en Taishan, provincia de Guangdong, China, la tercera de ocho hijos. Posteriormente, su familia emigró a Hong Kong, donde pasó la mayor parte de su infancia y juventud. Desde joven, Esther rebosaba energía y alegría: le encantaba bailar, jugar al baloncesto y al ping pong. También demostró un fuerte espíritu emprendedor desde muy joven, al dirigir su propia tienda de ropa infantil en Hong Kong.
