Levia Marie Rudniski

Levia Marie Rudniski May 28, 1944 - November 25, 2022 It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Levia, peacefully in her sleep, on Friday November 25th, 2022 at the age of 78 years. Levia was born in Canora Saskatchewan to Alex Semeschuk and Annie (née Zinkevich). She enjoyed the freedom of growing up on a farm with her five sisters Virginia (Peter) Dyck, Vivian (Gordon) Yawney, Lorrie (Neil) Hudson, Sandy (Jim) Walowski and Vincy (Rick) Gurski along with her three brothers Tom (Sharron) Semeschuk, Bryan (Tanis) Semeschuk and Bradley Semeschuk. Levia learned how life skills mixed with fun on the farm create a strong and enduring family. She valued these lessons. With her warm and generous heart & soul, she passed her memories and skills on to everyone who touched her life. Levia moved to Toronto and married Joe (deceased) in 1964. They had four children Randal, Karen, Susan (Don) and Jason (Karen). Levia was a grandmother to Erik, Katie, Sofie, Beckett, Ana, Josie, Ada, Carmen, Rebecca and Brittany. She called them "tumbleweeds”. She recently became the great-grandmother of Ellie Charlotte. Levia worked hard and put family first. She had a smile and a laugh for everyone and everything. Making perogies, paska and pysanky parties were favourites. Levia raised her family and she accomplished her goals in life. She retired from her work at Markham Stouffville Hospital almost 20 years ago. Levia loved people, holidays, traditions, nature, travel and adventure. She loved and played all types of music while doing her favourite things like cooking, walking, gardening, singing, dancing, joking, pranking, parties and celebrations. She loved her dog Coco. She lit candles for everyone and for everything. Her door was always open and her light would always shine on. Levia was an extraordinary mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was affectionately called “Livvy” by many people. She was a favourite of caregivers who called her "kind", “gentle”, "beautiful" and "feisty". Thank you to The Toronto Memory Program and to Chartwell Trilogy who provided exceptional care, comfort and compassion. A celebration of Levia's life will be held in the spring of 2023, when the flowers come up and the hummingbirds are back. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in honour of Levia to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
